“if God exists,who created God?”:
1:if the universe exists, who created the universe?
2:the theological and philosophical idea in general is that God didn't have a beginning,he is the uncaused first cause,i mean there's a theme of first causes in philosophy,a lot of philosophers used/use God as the uncaused first cause of the universe.
3:the evidence that we have today shows us that the universe came from no space no time and no matter,so the cause is spaceless, timeless, immaterial and powerful (it couldn't have caused everything if it wasn't powerful),if you are timeless,do you need a beginning?no.
And you see,if you believe in the law of causality you realize there must’ve been an uncaused first cause.
The law of causality:whatever begins to exist has a cause
4:Now i am just gonna give one of William Lane Craig’s answers to this question:
”you don’t need an explanation of the explanation to recognize one as the best explanation, that would ruin the whole world of science, you would need an explanation for everything.”
Just imagine being on some other planet, just by yourself, just you alone,no other life is on that planet right now,but then you see a computer, even though design is the best explanation for why that computer exists at all and for the way it works and for why it works in the first place, are you gonna say “well i don’t have an explanation of the designer so therefore the designer doesnt exist’’?
5:I also wanna point out that you will almost never see this objection used by professional philosophers, there are atheist philosophers like Michael Ruse who explain why this objection is bad.
(for some reason he still addressed the objection to John Lennox in their debate on the Unbelievable show)
